Day 52:

Things continue as usual. I'm at a point when I enjoy most of the exercises, particularly as we aren't doing legs every day. I am struggling with a couple of them, however:

  1. The pull-up: 8 weeks in and I still can't do more than a couple of these at once. I can do three to start, then I'm back to one or two after a minute rest between each one. I can do one set like that then I go back to the incline press. I really really want to be able to do this, but if I hang like Patrick does in the exercise sheet, then I can't pull myself up for even one.
  2. The kung-fu sit-up: I see we are advised to simply bring our legs up to 90 degrees if we can't get them any higher. My legs are managing about 60 degrees and I can't hold them for any length of time.
  3. The double katanas: I've done something to my left elbow/forearm so I was unable to do this exercise today. A shame, since tricep exercises are one of my favourite exercises.
Some more compliments recently on my new, leaner form and I continue to feel good. I think my metabolism is speeding up as I am getting hungry far more quickly than before.

  1. Your metabolism isn't speeding up per se, it's just firing more often. Same difference I guess!

  2. Looking really good Nickety!

I pull a chair up to my bar and use it slightly for support when the pull ups become too difficult. I'll let me knees hang off the front of the chair and the tops of my feet on the seat. This way I can't put too much pressure but the little extra support helps.

  3. Great idea Mickey, I'll give it a go. I'm also going to spread my pull-ups out throughout the day to get through them.

  5. Thanks guys. When you see it every day, it can be hard to appreciate, but when someone else tells you, it feels special.
